RULES For the International Festival

STARS OF THE WORLD

ALEXANDRA – PRINCESS ANGEL 2019

 

Organizer: Art company “New Stars” , Sofia, Bulgaria  

Dates: 26 31 August 2019
/arrival – 26 August, departure31 August, airport Varna / bus station / railway station Varna/  
The organizational committee can meet you at the airport. This is subject of additional agreement.
If your country needs visa support, please let us know in advance.

Place: summer resort “Albena”, Varna, Bulgaria   

Mission: The main mission of the Festival is to unite children and youths from all over the world who have interests and abilities in the main directions of performing arts – singing, dancing and fashion. 

The Festival supports Art Company “New Stars” international campaign against violence over children “Alexandra – Princess Angel”. 

Delegates: In the International Festival STARS OF THE WORLD – ALEXANDRA PRINCESS ANGEL  can participate collectives, groups, soloists in the directions “Vocal”, “Choreography” and “Fashion”. The age of the delegates is over 4 years old (no upper limit).

Age categories: The soloists are separated in age groups as follows: 4-6; 7-9; 10-12; 13-15, 16-19, over 20 years. The age is counted on 26 of August 2019 and is proven by document – ID, passport or birth certificate.
Age groups for vocal groups: up to 13 years, 14-19 years, over 20 years; in mixed groups the age group is determined by the age of the oldest participant.

Note: The organizers have the right to make changes in the age groups. 


DIRECTIONS OF THE FESTIVAL:  

  1. Vocal
  • The delegates in “Vocal” choose the nominations they would like to participate in.
  • The delegates can be soloists, duets, trios, quartets, quintets, vocal groups.
  • The International Jury evaluates technique, artistry, overall impression, stage behavior and costumes, choice of song according to the age and qualities of the participant.
  • Each delegate can perform one song with duration no more than 3.00 minutes in each of the chosen nominations:
  • World Hit – the most popular songs in the world since the 50s /you can see some of the recommended songs in this list – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_best-selling_singles
  • Song in native language – in the language of the delegate;
  • Folklore Song – from different countries;
  • Musical – songs presented in an attractive way, including choreography, costumes, theatrical performance; dancers are allowed to participate in the choreography;
  • Song from the repertoire of Philipp Kirkorov – in honor of the 50 year anniversary of the famous singer who was born in Varna, Bulgaria.

 

  1. Choreography
  • Each solo dance should be up to 2.30 min, and for each group – up to 4 min.
  • Nominations:
  • Contemporary dances and modern ballet;
  • Classical ballet;
  • Folklore dances;
  • Standard and latino dances;
  • Character dances;
  • Hip-hop.
  1. Fashion

Nominations in “Fashion”:

  • Soloists – models present 2 shows with the following costumes:
    • Sailor style costume;
    • Evening / official wear;
    • The shows are presented with common choreography and music.
  • Fashion theatres – they present one collection of their choice with duration 5-7 minutes, with their own choreography and musical accompaniment; minimum of 5 participants in the Fashion Theatre. The group can present a few separate collections, and for each one additional fee is paid.
  • Photomodel – distance contest – the delegates send 5-7 professional photos to email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . The prizes will be given during the competition or will be sent by post later.

 

  1. CompetitionPrince & Princess of the Festival

All delegates can participate; they present themselves in two rounds:

  • Casual style /everyday/;
  • Self-presentation – up to 30 seconds (name, country, hobbies, etc);
  • Official / elegant costumes.
  • The delegates prepare the costumes; the shows are with common music and choreography.

 

  1. All delegates can participate in as many nominations as they want; the nominations are paid additionally.

 

FESTIVAL PROGRAM

 

26 August 2019 – Monday   

  • Arrival and accommodation of the delegations
  • Registration of all delegates
  • Work meeting of all national directors and jury members /in the evening/ 

27 August 2019 – Tuesday    

  • Rehearsal for Opening Ceremony
  • Competition
  • Parade in national costumes and flags of the countries;
  • Opening Ceremony
  • Presentation of the International Jury
  • Evening of Nations – each country is presented in interesting way in 5 minutes. Delegations can present typical meals, delicacies, traditions, etc. Everyone can participate – delegates, parents, national directors. The delegates exchanges business cards and small souvenirs (optional).

28 August 2019 – Wednesday   

  • Competition
  • Evening of Neptune – the delegates welcome the King of the Seas, wearing carnival costumes;
  • Competition “Prince & Princess of the Festival”

29 August 2019 – Thursday   

  • Competition
  • Presentation of the national directors and their activities; official invitations for various international festivals

30 August 2019 – Friday    

  • Masterclasses and workshops – additional schedule
  • Awarding Ceremony
  • Gala concert

31 August 2019 – Saturday

  • Departure of the delegations. See you soon!

Note: This is tentative program. You will receive the official program one week before the Festival. 

 

WHAT TO BRING

Musical accompaniment :  

  • The musical accompaniment must be sent in advance to email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. until 15.08.2019; each music should be named with the delegate’s name and country, nomination and song name;
  • The musical accompaniment is given at registration on CD or USB flash, each song on separate CD/USB written with the delegate’s name and country, nomination and song name;
  • Duration of each performance for Vocal – up to 3.00 minutes /longer performances will be stopped/. Soloists are allowed to have pre-recorded backing vocals, and the chorus is allowed to have the lead melodic line, but only when improvising. Instrumental tracks with pre-recorded lead vocals in verses or doubled throughout the choruses will not be accepted.
  • Duration of each performance for Choreography – up to 2.30 min for solo, up to 4 min for groups.
  • Duration of each performance for Fashion Theatres – 5-7 minutes.

 

Costumes:

  • Costume and accessories for each performance;
  • National costume for Opening Ceremony;
  • Carnival costume for the Evening of Neptune;
  • Official wear for the Awarding Ceremony;

 

Others:

  • Small flag on a stick (around 15/30 cm);
  • Big flag (size 100/80 cm);
  • Small souvenirs / business cards for exchange with other delegates (optional).

 

INTERNATIONAL JURY

The International Jury consists of specialists in different areas – national directors, specialists and professionals in music and show business, singers, designers, journalists, producers, etc.

The decision of the Jury is final and not an object of discussion. 

 

PRIZES & AWARDS  

The overall prize fund of the International festival “STARS OF THE WORLD – ALEXANDRA PRINCESS ANGEL” is 10 000 euros, including awards, prizes, medals, crowns, sashes, certificates, diplomas, trophies, invitations to international festivals and events, money prizes.

  • All delegates receive certificates for their participation;
  • There are awards of the partners and sponsors of the Festival;
  • There are special awards of the Festival:
    • For youngest delegate;
    • For most attractive presentation in the Evening of nations;
    • For most attractive group / delegation;
    • For best national costume;
    • For best national director;
    • For best vocal teacher and choreographer;
    • For best designer, etc.
  • There are winners in the competition “Prince & Princess of the Festival” – they receive exclusive crowns, sashes, diplomas, gifts;
  • The laureates receive personal invitations for prestigious international events and projects in Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, Turkey, etc.
  • Some of the laureates in “Vocal” will receive personal invitations for the World Championship of Performing Arts – WCOPA in Hollywood, USA;
  • Some of the laureates in “Fashion” will receive personal invitations for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Moscow, Russia;
  • Awards in “Fashion”:
  • Awards in the distance contest “Photomodels” – winners receive exclusive crowns, sashes, medals;
  • In each age group are chosen winners; they receive exclusive crowns and sashes;
  • In the whole direction “Fashion” is chosen “Grand Prize” winner – individual model and fashion theatre. They receive exclusive crowns, sashes and medals.
  • Awards in “Vocal” and “Choreography”:
  • In each age group are awarded first, second and third degrees laureates;
  • In each age group are awarded winners – gold, silver and bronze medals;
  • In each nomination is chosen one Grand Prize winner who receives exclusive trophy, diploma and award;
  • Among all “Grand Prize” winners in is chosen one Super Grand Prize winner.

Note: The jury can decide to give more awards in the same category, or not to give certain award if there is no delegate who deserves it.

  • Filled-in entry form;
  • 2-4 photos of the delegate /full body and portrait photos, good resolution – at least 2Mb,
    appropriate for the catalogue of the festival/
  • Passport copy /for all delegates and accompanying persons/
  • Payment of the total sum until 15 of August, 2019.
